Product Description

The Yokogawa ADV161-P50 S2 is a high-density digital input module for the CENTUM VP field I/O architecture. It receives 64 channels of 24 VDC ON/OFF signals and transfers their states to the field control system for sequence control, interlocking, alarm handling and equipment-status monitoring.

Each 16-channel group shares a common, while the input circuitry remains isolated from the system. In addition to status detection, the module supports pushbutton edge counting. Its documented response and detection characteristics make it suitable for dense discrete-signal acquisition where channel count, deterministic update behavior and cabinet space are important.

The module can be installed in supported CENTUM VP FIO node units and field control units and can be configured redundantly. Selection must include the complete suffix, style marking, node compatibility, cable and terminal-board arrangement; an ADV161 module should not be replaced solely by matching the family number.

Technical Notes

Wiring note: The 24 VDC inputs are common every 16 channels. All voltage input signals connected within the same common group must use the same polarity. Observe the cable and terminal-board wiring shown for the selected connection method.
